Last night Kristin and I had our first session of Face Time. Obviously it is not the same as spending time together, but it is better that just talking on the phone. I still think it is worth getting the two new iPhones over the weekend. This way she can Face Time with family and friends throughout this time in the hospital.
She is looking good and in better spirits today. Her and I received permission for her to walk outside in the garden and get some fresh air. Yes, fresh air, in NYC. Might be an oxymoron, but it is better than sitting in the hospital room all day and only walking the corridors a few times again. Thank goodness it was a beautiful day, a summer day in early fall. It was refreshing for both of us.
One of the liver doctors visited her yesterday just to update her, which they do at least once or twice a week. Sounds like everything is going well. They are planning for the worst case scenario just incase. The team is planning on how to approach the situation of doing a transplant if the hemangeomia gets too large. Yet, the probability of that happening, according to the doctor, is less than .05%, which is fantastic. But we have to have people in mind who could be generous to do so, but those individuals have to come forth themselves; meaning we can't give the doctors their names. There are several tests and questions the doctors need to cover for that scenario. Obviously I volunteered to do so, but the doctor mentioned that it might not be a good idea, since we will have a newborn at home at that time. I get it, but I still would for her.
The ironic part of the day:
Kristin's hemoglobin levels have dipped every so slightly, but it could be due to the fact that the doctors are drawing blood each day, to test for hemoglobin levels.
More on the prognosis, the travels and my connections to Joseph Campbells's "Hero's Journey".
Thank you to everybody for all the prayers, love, compassion, healing energy and generosity. Thank you for helping me know more deeply what it means to be grateful.
God bless and be well.

Nearly a week ago I brought my wife, Kristin, to Overlook Hospital in Summit, NJ due to consistent low grade fevers and throwing up. We knew she had a hemangioma in her liver, but it grew in the previous two weeks. She was transferred to the Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital in NYC at 3:30 in the morning on Tuesday, September 25. We have been here ever since, and will be until early November, under doctor supervision for her liver and our baby boy. He is doing great thou, other than being overly excited when being watched on the fetal monitor.
Well, this is our little story and we will document everything that is going on from my personal travels between work in Englewood, NJ; home in Middlesex Co., NJ; and the hospital in New York City. We will add the trials and tribulations of navigating this little hiccup of our first pregnancy and all the joyous times as well.
